Tattoo Aftercare

Congratulations on your new Tattoo!

Tattoos typically take around two to four weeks to heal*, but this timeline can vary based on individual body reactions and natural healing processes.

Healing your tattoo properly is equally as important as the tattoo session itself. Kindly follow our tattoo aftercare tips to ensure your successful healing process.

Snow Tattoo Aftercare:

  • Drink plenty of water and re-hydrate. Dizziness may occur if you get dehydrated during your tattoo as your body undergoes new sensation during your tattoo session. It is important to drink water not only during your tattoo session, but also after your tattoo session.

  • Always wash your hands, no matter what, before doing any of the following with your tattoo:

    • Remove the protective covering after 2 hours or when you arrive home or to a clean environment, whichever comes first. Tattoos are like an open wound where while you need to initially protect it from unclean environment, allowing your tattoo to breathe, is much better for the healing process.

    • Apply a very thin layer of A&Dointment (without lanolin) - every 2-4 hours, for two weeks. This is to keep your tattoo moisturized while its healing. Do not apply a thick layer as you do not want your tattoo to suffocate. Allowing your tattoo to breathe is important for the healing process. *Important: Make sure your A&D it is without lanolin. (You may also use organic coconut oil or evoo as an alternative.)

  • Do not soak your tattoo in water. Avoid pools, tubs and saunas for two weeks.

  • Avoid excessive sweating on your tattoo during the healing process for two weeks.

  • Use mild and unscented soap when washing and cleaning your tattoo and do not scrub your tattoo or use anything abrasive on your tattoo. Avoid soaps with harsh chemicals.

  • Pat dry when drying your tattoo after washing

  • Do not scratch your tattoo. Do not rub or hit your tattoo. As your tattoo heals it is natural for you to feel the sensation of itchiness as the new layer of skin starts to develop and heal. A soft scab will form over your new tattoo which will naturally start to peel off, revealing the healed tattoo underneath. Do not scratch anywhere around the tattoo to avoid cross contamination of unseen bacteria that may be under your fingernails. DO NOT USE Neosporin. Antibacterial ointments may interfere with your tattoo ink causing discoloration or causing your ink to fall out. Do not pick at your tattoo, simply apply a thin layer of A&D to moisturize and sooth any discomfort.

  • During the healing process of your tattoo, remember to wear comfortable clothing that will not interfere with the healing process of your tattoo.

  • After your tattoo is healed remember to avoid direct sunlight, using protective barriers against UV rays.

  • It is best to continue to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized even after your tattoo is healed.

    ENJOY YOUR NEW TATTOO!
